This course provides an overview of information systems and how they provide value in organizations by supporting business objectives and decision-making. Topics to be covered include types of information systems, the general theory of global systems and their relationship to the overall organization, as well as global e-business, technology infrastructure, databases and information management, telecommunications, the Internet and wireless technology, security, enterprise relationships, knowledge based systems, emerging technologies, and ethical and social issues.This course is cross-listed as CIS 200.
