Writing about Transformative Learni (COR 104)
Term: 2024-2025 Spring Semester
Mon-Wed-Fri, 10:00 AM - 10:50 AM (1/22/2025 - 5/8/2025) Location: FCSTA LIB 215
This course will give students the opportunity to explore the critical role that writing can play in self-transformation. Essays earlier in the semester will call upon students to advance arguments about themselves and the trajectory of their own personal growth in genres such as the literacy narrative and the remembered event, while later essays will call upon students to advance arguments relying more heavily on textual analysis and/or other forms of evidence external to themselves on topics in which students are deeply invested and which have the potential to be personally transformative. Readings will be drawn from a wide range of writers whose work is exploratory of identity and the issues constituent thereof.
