Unger Family Scholarship

 

1)       The Unger Family Scholarship will be awarded to a student on a Flagler College “Faculty-Led” Study Abroad program.

Students can express their interest in the Unger Family Scholarship by submitting:

 

1.       A completed Faculty Led Study Abroad application

2.       A Statement of Intent which explains why they would like to receive the Unger Family Scholarship.

3.       A Letter of Reference from one faculty member.

2)      These applications will be submitted to the Office of Study Abroad.  They will be reviewed for nomination by International Admissions Officer in conjunction with the Office of Study Abroad.

3)      The award will be made from the office of Financial Aid and will be applicable to the Flagler College tuition associated with the travel abroad.

4)      The Unger Family Scholarship recipient agrees to

1.        Attend the Scholarship Dinner in November 2011.

2.       Respond with an appropriate follow-up letter which addresses the following questions

(1) What was the best part of your study abroad program? (2) How did the Unger Family Scholarship benefit your experience? (3) How can the Unger Family improve your study abroad experience?

 

COMPLETE application packets are due to the Office of Study Abroad by

February 28, 2011.

The successful applicant will be notified by March 15, 2011.

To be eligible for an independent study abroad program students must:  
  • Have sophomore standing with the completion of at least 45 credit hours
  • Have a cumulative G.P.A. of 2.50 or higher
  • Be a degree-seeking student
  • Satisfy all departmental requirements
  • Be approved by the Office of Academic Affairs
  • Receive positive letters of recommendation, if required
  • Have a satisfactory discipline record as certified by the  Dean of  Student Services

Faculty led study abroad programs require all of the above with the exception of credit hours. Students need 24 attempted credit hours for faculty led programs
